Hey everybody!
Spring is coming, weeks after the groundhog said it would be here. Lesson learned: don’t trust rodents.
All bad jokes aside, it’s March, and we’re already a quarter of the way into 2023. The NBA regular season is rolling into a climactic finish, especially for us Knicks fans. The Knicks are winning again, and it seems that we’re finding different ways with different heroes nightly. As of this writing, we’re on a nine-game winning streak, having just beaten the Celtics in double-overtime. Spring Training for Major League Baseball is also in full swing, and the World Baseball Classic is gearing up to start. Baseball is always a favorite way to mark the passing of the seasons, and the this year’s iteration of the Bronx Bombers are ranked the second best team in baseball, behind the Astros.
Astros. Ugh.
Anyway, here’s what’s going on in this end of the world:
· I finished plotting the first draft of Empire Towers! I’m keeping with the grand tradition of completing NaNoWriMo projects well after November, but with an end in sight, I might be able to have the first draft done by the end of this month! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
· I’ve gone through the first four chapters of Urban Legend. There’s good stuff in those chapters that will survive the edits, and stuff that won’t. I’m hoping to push through and have it ready to put out soon. Of course, I’ll keep you posted.
· I went to my first major Comic-Con! We had a lovely day at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, and I learned a few things about business, writing, and what it takes. I’ll be happy to talk about that this month.
Well, that’s what’s going on here. I hope you all continue striving to your goals, especially as it gets warmer and we all thaw out. Summer is coming, and I’d love to see everyone get to where they want to be. Have fun and stay safe out there.
Cheers!
